The 2010 Alltech FEI
World Equestrian Games came to the Kentucky Horse Park this fall,
and MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® offered a very special
collection of ladies' couture hats to help celebrate this historic
event that took place from September 25th through October 10th!
This was the very
first time that the Games had been held outside of Europe. With
over 700 horses and 600 equestrians representing 60 different
countries, we wanted to offer a collection that would honor all
of the athletes participating in the Games. Each hat is created to
reflect the spirit of the eight Olympic-level equestrian events:
Dressage, Driving, Eventing, Endurance, Reining, Show Jumping,
Vaulting, and Para-Equestrian. In addition, with the Opening
Ceremonies featuring such artists as Wynonna Judd, Stacy Westfall
with champion reining mare, Roxy, and musicians from Jazz at
Lincoln Center, now what could be a more perfect occasion for a
fabulous hat?!
Any
of the hats featured in this collection would also make a lovely
chapeau for Opening Day at Del Mar, the Queen's Plate in Canada,
the Breeders' Cup, the Melbourne Cup Races, or the races at
Saratoga!

A
stunning chapeau created for a very special equine athlete. A
two-time winner of All-American Quarter Horse Championships and
two reserve championships, Roxy has also won the NRHA Futurity
Freestyle Championship and the Tulsa Reining Classic twice,
among others. Both
Roxy and her partner, Stacy, appeared on the Ellen Degeneres
Show in March of 2008, and Roxy and Stacy have been invited to
be part of the Opening Ceremonies at the 2010 Alltech FEI World
Equestrian Games this fall.
